The
California State Games philosophy regarding interns
is to allow a hands on experience where they will
learn skills that can be listed on a resume and
complete projects that can be put in a portfolio.
We also give interns the opportunity to work independently
and with a group. We work with a variety of colleges
and universities with respect to students obtaining
college credit.
The
following positions are available:
Marketing
Manager - Manage a marketing plan for
the California State Games (Summer and Winter).
Work with corporate sponsors on fulfilling their
requirements with the Games. Help create
a survey to be distributed among the California
State Games athletes and compile the results
upon completion of the event.
Sports
Manager - Work with 26 Event Directors
in assisting them with venue planning, equipment
scheduling, officials and budget for the California
State Games. Coordinates with local support
for the event including the medical trainers/doctors
and emergency communications.
Public
Relations Manager - Manages a public
relations plan for the California State Games
(Summer and Winter). This includes a quarterly
newsletter, press releases and results.
Work with the Event Directors on developing
sport specific ideas so that it attracts the
attention of local newspapers and television.
Create and distribute the California State Games
press packet.
